I purchased this Garnier Ambre Solaire 'No Streaks' self tan gel from my local Boots in the 'intense' shade as with previous use of self tanners I always seem to benefit from using the darker sahde opposed to the light one.
Okay so onto the mess which is the product:
What the people at Garnier say:
''A natural looking tan effect that looks as natural as the sun can give you... blah blah blahhh''
Now this is complete and utter, how do I put it.. rubbish.
I did my usual pre-tan routine:
-Shower
-Exfoliate
-Pat skin dry
Then I applied the product exactly how it said on the bottle using small amounts, this product doesn't show when you are applying so you have to be extremely careful. It also takes an age to dry and it smells awful, classic fake tan smell. So I waited for this to dry and got into bed hoping that a beautiful bronzed goddess would awaken in the morning. How wrong was I ?!
When I awoke and pulled the duvet covers off my skin was still white as the sheets I lay on and I had a wonderful allergic reaction to it : the skin on my wrist joints looked like it had been burned ( I wish I'd of taken pictures to send to them! ) and I had extremely dry itchy patches everywhere that I had applied the tan. So this was a complete and utter fail for me. When I went into college and told people as a few people asked what the disgusting looking rash on my hands was, I'd say a handful of people told me that they or their friends had had this reaction too.
So I'd say do not use this fake tan unless you want rubbish results and run the risk of getting a nasty reaction. Usually I would say ''this may just be me reacting to the product'' but because quite a few people have told the same story I would steer clear of it!
Has anyone else used this fake tan and had the same problem? Or has anyone had lovely results?
Lots of Love
Charlotte
