TAG:Would you rather? Beauty edition.

I've not posted for a while so I thought I'd get back into the blog with a tag post.

1.Would you rather go out with messy hair and nice make-up or Nice hair and no make-up?

This one is easy, messy hair and nice makeup. My hairs normally a mess anyway haha! And I would feel like everyone was staring at my makeup-less face if I didn't have any on. So yes, first questions easy (:

2.Would you rather shave your eyebrows or have your eyelashes fall out?

My eyebrows, because you can't glue false eyelashes on if you have no eyelashes at all I assume. So I'd shave my eyebrows as they can be drawn in again.

3.Would you rather be forced to shop at only MAC or Sephora for the rest of your life?

MAC, the first reason being we don't have a Sephora in the UK so it wouldn't be a good option that I'd have to travel to buy makeup haha! Ans also I just can't resist the MAC collections it would be torture to look at them and not be able to buy!
4.Would you rather wear lipgloss/lipliner look or 80's perm?

Lipgloss/lip liner, a terrible makeup faux-paus but I would not suit a perm, the thought of it makes me giggle and at least I'd be able to wipe off the lipgloss and liner at the end of the day!

5.Would you rather leave the house with an obvious foundation line or overdone blush?

Overdone blush... foundation lines are so much more obvious. Even though overdone blush does look awful. This is a hard one, but yes overdone blush.

6.Would you rather wear MC Hammer pants or biker shorts in public?

Haha biker shorts. I wouldn't want to walk out of the house in full-on MC Hammer pants lol! I don't even like harem pants which I suppose are a toned down version of MC Hammer pants.
7.Would you rather have a bad orange-y spray tan or really weird tan lines that can't be covered?

Weird tan lines, I've had my fair share of these in my time. Such as when I fell asleep on the sunbed on holiday on my side and one side of my body was practically black and the other was pale as a milk bottle, and oh yeah it was my second to last day! So I think I can cope with weird tan lines haha.

8.Would you rather have a bad haircut or bad hair color?

Bad hair colour, for the simple fact that it's quicker to fix than a bad haircut.

9. Would you rather have you tube or twitter taken away forever?

Twitter, I mean it is quite stupid and I feel like a bit of a stalker at times using it haha!

10.Would you rather give up using makeup brushes or mascara?

Brushes, as hands can be used to apply makeup at a push. I wouldn't be able to live without mascara and I hate the trouble of false eyelashes. I'm quite a lazy makeup user.

There we go, those were my answers. I suppose a lot of peoples willl be similar.

Consider yourselves tagged :)

Diets & Exercise Plans... Help?

Well I've been thinking and I really want to lose some weight for Summer. I've never been on a diet as such before and I've never seemed to stick to an exercise routine, maybe due to the fact of travelling to the gym or my mums to use the wii fit!

So girls.. I need an exercise, or diet plan that will really benefit me. I'd rather do exercise that diet to be honest as I normally always cheat when I tell myself I'm going to be healthy.

I'm just really unhappy with my weight at the moment and shopping for clothes is more of a chore now than something fun :'( If you are wondering what dress size I am then it varies, I used to be a UK size 6 top and UK 8 bottoms. Now I don't really know what I am :/ my size 8 jeans are kind of tight and my size size tops are too... Now it may not seem a big deal to some of you that I may of gone upto a 10/12 bottom and 8/10 top but it really is to me so any help or tips would be highly appreciated.

Thanks girls!

In & Out #1

Okay so this is my first In & Out post. I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon as a lot of blogs are doing this. So here goes (:

IN

Maybelline 'The falsies' Mascara- Ok so this has been out for quite a while now, and it's been lurking in my makeup drawer for ages. I decided to give it another go today and it fanned my lashes out beautifully and gave quite a nice length. Thumbs up for Maybelline!

The Twilight Saga- So I read the first two books soon after their release while I was on holiday but just never got round to the third. I'm currently reading it, and sorry to be cliqued but you really can't put it down. The films out soon and I'm glad they're splitting the last book into two films. The film does not come close to the books though so I suggest you read them.

Receiving my provisional driving license- Yay! I will be on the roads very soon. I'm thinking of doing a crash course but not sure yet.

The upcoming MAC collections- The upcoming MAC collections look fun. In the groove looks to have some lovely mineralize blushes and Alice + Olivia has cute packaging and the lipglass collection looks promising. I found the info courtesy of Temptalia.

OUT

Rainy days in Summer- I hate it when we have lovely weather here in England and then it changes so quickly to horrible drizzly, grey days :( Another annoying thing about this is you never know what to wear!

Parcels being sent back to the Depot- I hate it when I miss my delivery and then send my parcel back to the depot instead of leaving it with my neighbour especially when it's on the delivery instructions. Grrr!

MAC's Creme Colour Base in Pearl- I just hate it to be honest, it doesn't blend well at all. I've resorted to using it just for an eyeshadow base which I really don't need as my Urban Decay Primer Potion is the holy grail of all eyeshadow bases!

Well that's it for my first In and Out post. I hope you liked it. Have a nice rest of week and weekend :)

Famous Dave's

I've gone a little heavy on the blog posts today but ahh well (:

I've just ordered some Famous Dave self tan off their website. I ordered the 'Super Combo' which costs £54.00. It includes:

1x Famous Dave's Moisture Tan
1x Famous Dave's Tanning Mousse
1x Famous Dave's Body Buffer
1x Famous Daves Tanning Mitt

I also ordered a back tanning applicator which was £9.99

The press reviews for this product seem very positive although I have never heard of the brand before.

I'm looking forward to recieving the product and trying it out (:

You can order this from http://www.famousdave.co.uk/ or from a Debenhams department store
Have you or someone you know tried this self tan and what are your thoughts?

How strange...

What comes into your mind when you look at this picture... Well I don't know what I thought when I first looked at it.

I was having a look on Ebay to see if I could find any cute Japanese/Chinese cosmetics as I love the cute packaging and I came across this.

It's actually a.... nose straightener. Yes you read right, a nose straightener. I can't even think of who would use this product and if it actually would work :|

Have you come across any wierd and wonderful (or not so wonderful) products lately?

Hidden Gem!

I was browsing around the internet, as you do. And came across http://www.shopbop.com/ I cannot believe I've never heard of this website before.

If you've never heard of it it's kind of like a designer outlet type site including Marc Jacobs, UGG, True Religion, Juicy Couture etc. All the prices are in US dollars but they do ship worldwide and if you spend over $100 (£66.34) shipping is free! I didn't see an option to convert the prices into the correct currency. But a converter open in another window can solve that problem.

I've seen some lovely things on the site and here are just a few:

Juicy Couture Rolled Sleeve Plaid Dress $89.00 (£59)

This dress also comes in a red colour option which is slightly more expensive. But I prefer this version alot more! I'd love to team this up with some big sunnies, a sun hat and some sandals. It's a perfect little day dress for the more summery days, it could also be teamed with leggings for cooler periods.

Marc Jacobs Nylon Tate Tote   $198 (£131)

I love this bag, it's a cute everyday bag which would definately fit all the essentials in. The lining is also lovely. White with black printed 'Marc Jacobs' I think this price is fairly cheap for a designer bag even though it's just an everyday tote.

Alex and Ani Pineapple Expandable Wire Bangle  $28 (£19)

The jewelry collection on the website was beautiful and I could of made a whole blog post on just that. But I just picked out one piece which I thought was quite affordable, it also came into their 'eco-friendly' range as the bangle is made from recycled metal. I thought this bangle was adorable! A little pineapple charm on a gold bangle, there were different bangles in the same style, a cherry charm and a strawberry. But I thought the pineapple was the prettiest. I am going to be very tempted to buy them all though as they are so gorgeous!

So I could spend all day drooling over this website, but I won't. I thought the products were pretty affordable for what they are and the fact they ship worldwide is a plus.

Has anyone used this site before, what was the service, shipping and quality of products like?

Don't you just love freebies?

This month magazines seem to have gone freebie crazy, this usually happens at this time of the year because of summer holidays etc. So at this time I end up with a huuuge pile of magazines!

Ok so first up is the three benefit products as you all probably know one of these comes free with Glamour Magazine and you can collect them all so £6 for £45 worth of Benefit products and three magazines isn't bad!

Eye Bright

Eye Bright's an eye brightening pencil pale pink in colour, which can be applied to the corners of the eye to give a 'wide eyed' look. Now I love this pencil, it's a creamy formulation which glides on easily and does give a brightening effect and isn't as harsh as a white pencil.

BadGal

This will be the quickest to go out of stock as it's a cult Benefit product. I've used this liner a couple of times and the colour is a strong black and can be used to create a smokey eye. The only downside is it does smudge a little. But I can't complain it was free!

It Stick

Last and well.. least is the It Stick, it's a concealer pencil and can be used for an eye base, and it says it covers any blemishes, therefore it claims it can be used as a usual concealer. I'm not so keen on this product especially as it's in a  pencil, it just doesn't seem right to me. There were lots of these left on the shelves when I got mine. I can now see why.

Next up, free in Marie Claire this month is a free shower and bath gel from Cowshed, retail price £8.00. There are different fragrances to collect and I got 'grumpy cow' as it was the only one left in the shop.  I used this in the shower this morning, at first smell lemon drizzle cake came to mind. I'm not usually keen on citrus fragrances but this one wasn't too overpowering and very uplifting. It left my skin feeling smooth and woke me up this morning!

Lastly in Cosmopolitan this week is this book 'Operation Sunshine' retail price £6.99, also the magazine is cut price only costing £2.00! I've not started reading this book yet as I'm trying to finish Twilight Eclipse before the film comes out! But I think it will be a great summer read. I think lots of magazines will be giving books away in the next months for beach reads.

Well those are the magazine freebies I got this month! I do love something for nothing

Have you had any magazine or other freebies this month?

Want allergic reactions and patchy orange skin?

I purchased this Garnier Ambre Solaire 'No Streaks' self tan gel from my local Boots in the 'intense' shade as with previous use of self tanners I always seem to benefit from using the darker sahde opposed to the light one.

Okay so onto the mess which is the product:

What the people at Garnier say:
''A natural looking tan effect that looks as natural as the sun can give you... blah blah blahhh''
Now this is complete and utter, how do I put it.. rubbish.
I did my usual pre-tan routine:
-Shower
-Exfoliate
-Pat skin dry
Then I applied the product exactly how it said on the bottle using small amounts, this product doesn't show when you are applying so you have to be extremely careful. It also takes an age to dry and it smells awful, classic fake tan smell. So I waited for this to dry and got into bed hoping that a beautiful bronzed goddess would awaken in the morning. How wrong was I ?!
When I awoke and pulled the duvet covers off my skin was still white as the sheets I lay on and I had a wonderful allergic reaction to it : the skin on my wrist joints looked like it had been burned ( I wish I'd of taken pictures to send to them! ) and I had extremely dry itchy patches everywhere that I had applied the tan. So this was a complete and utter fail for me. When I went into college and told people as a few people asked what the disgusting looking rash on my hands was, I'd say a handful of people told me that they or their friends had had this reaction too.
So I'd say do not use this fake tan unless you want rubbish results and run the risk of getting a nasty reaction. Usually I would say ''this may just be me reacting to the product'' but because quite a few people have told the same story I would steer clear of it!
Has anyone else used this fake tan and had the same problem? Or has anyone had lovely results?

Update on me and other boring stuff!

Okay I haven't posted in a while now... To be honest I've been quite busy at the moment, I have my AS Level exams looming up on me very soon, so haven't really had much time for anything but revising... I know boring!

On a positive note:

I've been shopping in the last few weeks and I've bagged myself some new MAC products including the Viva Glam GaGa which I have had my eyes on for quite some time as I'm a huge GaGa fan! Also I thought I'd try out the Studio Tech Foundation... I'm still having mixed thoughts about it now and I've hit pan.. I am going to use it all up though as it was fairly pricey (£22.00) and I don't like to waste makeup. I do love love love my MSF Natural in Medium though it gives a lovely finish to the skin hence the name 'skin finish' duhh. I also purchased one of Mac's Powder Blushes in Pinch O'Peach the main reason I bought this was due to SWalkerMakeup's videos on YT and I felt it was a lovely shade on the skin and I have to say I'm very pleased with the results. I will be purchasing more blushes from MAC, I have to say I was a MAC blush virgin before that purchase and I love the consistancy and blendability (is that a word?!) of the product (:

I'm also very exited as it's my 17th Birthday on Saturday the 22nd so I should be driving soon.....clear the roads people! I don't know how to take the whole driving thing.. I'm nervous/exited but I hope I will overcome the fear of crashing and get into it and enjoy it. My DREAM car would be a Grey Mini Convertible.... but I don't thing my budget will even stretch to a Corsa yet haha...... well at least I can keep dreaming..... XD

Sorry this post is lacking in pictures and the content is well, rather dull. But once my exams are out of the way the whole blogging and twitter lark will be up and running properly and I hope I can gain alot more subscribers to both! I may even consider Youtubing as that seems a great meduim to get my little obsession across with!

Lots of Love

Charlotte.

My top 5 Products ATM

Just a little blog post showing my top five products at the moment and why (:

Starting with my favourite :

1 Maybelline 24hr SuperStay Foundation

This foundation retails around £8.99 but is currently on offer at Boots stores in their 3 for 2 across the whole Maybelline range! I don't wear this foundation on it's own as the shade I usually use 'fawn' is a little darker with this foundation than it is in the other Maybelline products. To solve this product I mix SuperStay Silky foundation with this to give the shade I want. So I would advise if you are a regular Maybelline shopper go one shade lighter with this foundation unless you want to mix.
2. Maybelline 'The Falsies' mascara

I absolutely ADORE this mascara. It gives a great false lash effect shape to the lashes and a great boost of volume. The curved brush applicator is easy to use and perfect for bottom lashes. The colour of this mascara is a deep black which I love. I think it also comes in a brown shade, but don't hold me to that!

3. Rimmel Royal Gloss- 161 Delicious

All I can say is YUM! This lipgloss smells and tastes delicious.. It's smooth so no sticky lips and it glides on perfectly I would definately recommend this for a light glossy sheen to the lips. I am wearing Royal Jelly - 161 - Delicious in the picture. These glosses retail around £3.99
4. Barry M Dazzle Dusts

I love Barry M's Dazzle Dusts, maybe because they are so versatile and you can get many looks from just a few pots. Also I think the value is amazing £4.50, although the pot is very small that will last you for aggeees! Now moving onto my favourite colours, I've got to say I do love the pinks and silvers Barry M do in this range. What I'm wearing above is Pale Silver, Shocking Pink and Iced Pink. All these shades can be mixed and matched with other shades I have in my collection so the number of looks you can create is wonderful! Hopefully I will be starting a Youtube account soon with a few tutorials if I get a bigger following.

Thanks for reading lovelies

Big Fake mascara

When I saw Collection 2000 mascara in my local Boots at a price of £4.99 with a free waterproof liquid eyeliner I thought I may as well give it a try. Now I'm not usually a fan of the 'lower end' makeup brands but at this price it was worth a try.
First up the mascara claims:
"va va voom to lashes without the fuss of false lashes...double your lash length in one fell swoop"
My Verdict:
The brush- I found the actual brush applicator was too large for my liking this made it a little tricky to apply the mascara and not as prescise. Also it was a struggle to apply mascara on the bottom lashes.
The colour- The colour I went for was black, it was a dark black and did cover the lashes perfectly.
Length and Volume- I applied two coats of this mascara and I felt like I needed more although I think more coats would have a very heavy effect on the eyes. I topped up with my usual mascara and don't feel I had anymore length/volume than I usually do.
Overall: I wouldn't repurchase this product for the simple fact that it doesn't do what it says on the tin. And I DON'T like that!

C.L.P Makeup- First post!

This is my first post (eek!) First on the list is abit about me :

^^^ That's meee. I'm 16 years old from England. I'm currently at college studying my A Levels: health and social, english language and law. I'm hopefully going to progress onto university to do law.

I'm not a professional makeup artist and makeup is just a hobbie and strong passion of mine. There will be product raves, reviews and just general beauty chit-chat (:
